A practice project: a web Pokédex that queries a public API and displays Pokémon information.
I developed the backend with Python and Flask and the interface with HTML and CSS. The project includes dynamic search and error handling when the external source does not respond.
It demonstrates API integration and search interfaces; it is neither an official Pokémon product nor an AI system.
Python and Flask for an external API
Flask organizes Python backend routes and connects queries with a public REST API. HTML and CSS present the response in a web interface. The exercise covers the complete journey from search to data presentation, including the case where the source does not respond.
What this development contributes
This example is relevant to directories, catalogs and internal tools querying external services. Depending on an API requires distinguishing between no matching result and a source that cannot be reached. It remains an independent technical exercise, without Pokémon affiliation or claims of large-scale commercial use.
